- An anonymous user identifier generated automatically when you first use the app.
- Apple account information if you choose to use Sign in with Apple, including Apple account identifiers, name, and email returned to us.
- Learning and progress data, including decks, flashcards, quiz results, streaks, XP, achievements, earned screen time, daily goals, and related preferences.
- Push notification token, if you allow notifications.
- Device and technical information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, diagnostic logs, and reliability data where available.
- Content you submit for AI-powered features, such as pasted notes, topics, PDF documents, image scans, or URLs used to generate flashcards or quizzes.
- Information you send to us directly, such as emails or support requests.
We do not require your real name or personal email address to use the app unless you choose to provide that information, such as through Sign in with Apple or by contacting support.
LockLeaf uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls APIs to help users block distracting apps and manage intentional unlock sessions.
- The specific apps you choose to block are handled on your device.
- We do not receive or store the exact list of apps you select through Apple's Screen Time or Family Controls interfaces.
- App selection and blocking decisions made through Screen Time are not sold or used for advertising.
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- Sync your progress across devices if you sign in.
- Deliver app features such as quizzes, flashcards, streaks, notifications, earned unlock time, and rewards.
- Process purchases, subscriptions, and restores through Apple and RevenueCat.
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, rate-limit certain features, and improve app performance.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
When you use AI-powered features, the content you submit may be sent through our backend infrastructure to an AI service provider in order to generate results for you.
- We use submitted content to process and return the feature you requested.
- We may retain limited technical metadata, such as request timing, usage volume, or token counts, for security, rate limiting, billing, abuse prevention, and service monitoring.
- We do not use your submitted content to train our own models.
- If you keep a generated deck, the resulting cards and selected source support such as quotes or evidence may be saved in the app and, where applicable, synced to your cloud account.
- We aim to limit retention of submitted AI content to what is reasonably necessary to operate the feature.
Your data may be stored locally on your device and, if you choose to sign in, in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase). Data transmitted is protected using HTTPS/TLS. We rely on trusted third-party providers including Supabase (database), RevenueCat (purchases), Apple (Sign In, Screen Time), Expo/EAS (infrastructure), and AI service providers. We require service providers handling personal information on our behalf to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize associated server-side personal data within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. You can withdraw optional notification or device permissions through iPhone Settings, delete your account from within the app, or contact us for a privacy request. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription, which you manage through Apple.
If you use deck sharing features, only the deck content you choose to share is included in the share link. Your private study decks are not made public by default.
LockLeaf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
